Fun with the Firefighters at Florence Library

Many of you may already get the email updates from the Florence Library ... but if not, here's one they sent yesterday for their activity on October 7th at 10am. It conflicts with playgroup, but if you want to do something different or combine the two ... (depending on how long it runs, we'll likely hit McD's afterwards) It looks to be a lot of fun. You will need to RSVP ahead of time. If anyone would like to carpool, I'll have 4 extra seats.

Intersession Fun with the Firefighters

The Florence Community Library is the place to be for story-time and fun. Family Story time at the Florence Community Library will host the Florence Fire Department on Wednesday, October 7 at 10:00am. Librarians will read a story, the firemen will do a hands-on demonstration, and everyone will get a tour of a real fire engine. There will be goodies! Seating will be limited. Please RSVP at 520-868-9471. The Florence Community Library is located at 1000 S. Willow, Florence, AZ 85132.

Farmhouse Chicken

Just found this recipe.. Havn't tried it but it looks good and wanted to pass it along... They've made a few changes that will save fat and calories. They've browned the chicken in Light Zesty Italian Dressing instead of oil; used PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese instead of whipping cream; and didn't dip the chicken in eggs before coating in flour. All these changes will save you 50 calories and 19 g of fat per serving! They use brown rice vs. white and I'll prob use the Fat Free Cream Cheese... Bon Appetite

1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp. pepper
4 small bone-in chicken breast halves (1-1/2 lb.), skin removed
1/4 cup KRAFT Light Zesty Italian Dressing
2 cups baby carrots
1 onion, cut into wedges
1 can (14-1/2 oz.) fat-free reduced-sodium chicken broth, divided
2 cups instant brown rice, uncooked
4 oz. (1/2 of 8-oz. pkg.) PHILADELPHIA Neufchatel Cheese, cubed
2 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley

MIX flour and pepper in shallow dish. Add chicken; turn to coat both sides of each piece. Gently shake off excess flour. Heat dressing in large nonstick skillet on medium heat. Add chicken, meat-sides down; cook 5 to 6 min. or until golden brown. Turn chicken. Add carrots, onions and 1 cup broth; cover. Simmer on medium-low 20 min. or until chicken is done (165°F).

MEANWHILE, cook rice as directed on package; spoon onto platter. Use slotted spoon to remove chicken and vegetables from skillet; place over rice. Cover to keep warm.

ADD Neufchatel and remaining broth to skillet; cook on high heat until Neufchatel is melted and sauce is well blended, stirring constantly. Simmer on medium-low heat 3 to 5 min. or until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally. Spoon over chicken and vegetables; top with parsley.

Students for Christmas

I am currently in the process of finding 4-5 good families who would love to open their homes this Christmas season to a Vietnamese high school aged teenager for 2 weeks. We pay $200 a week/per kid and ask that you open your homes and heart to these kids not your wallet:)

I will have more individual info on each kid in the coming weeks. They are all students in America going to private high schools in various states. They are very well educated and very well behaved and just cannot make it back to Veitnam for Christmas and would love to have a "family" for Christmas.

If you are intrested or if you know someone who is please give me a call at 480-299-2110.

Lots of Stuff that needs to go ASAP

***OK - Boy do the banks work fast!! Jon went to the house this morning to pull chairs for someone and the locks have already been changed. So, nothing in the house can be retrieved. If you're interested in the tools or bbq, etc. then call me - but move fast - not sure how long it will be until they come to clear everything out to the dump to prep for selling.***
Hey All,
You may remember some friends of our who recently moved back to Las Vegas. We had posted some items they had for sale before they left. There are still various items that were left behind I just havn't take them time to go through and inventory things- Jon finally went over and took pics for me a couple of weeks ago. Make an offer. I got a call a week ago that the house will soon be re keyed by the mortgage co so I'm not sure how much longer we will have access to the interior. If you are interested, please contact me ASAP (preferably between Fri-Sat-Sun if possible) and we can meet at the house, which is located in Anthem.
I've posted several pics with the info I have. There is a lot of random stuff that didn't really merit a photo, but if you're there and want it, take it. :) I sure hate to see it all trashed if someone can use it, there just wasn't time or space for them to take everything.
Thanks a bunch!

I think this is a vacuum

Coffee Table - needs a good dusting, but seems in good shape

Wood Toddler Bed - one slat has been repaired or need to be repaired. Easy fix

Tool Bag - Think it has tools in it.

Help me go to WASHINGTON

Jared wants to go to the 8th grade D.C. trip at the end of the year. He has to raise money to pay for the school trip.

If you are in need of a babysitter, please call him. Jared is a junior lifeguard and has taken cpr and first aid. He is 13 and has a lot of experience with babysitting his siblings.

He can babysit at your house or his.

Best part: all money that he earns is eligible for tax credit. So you can get tax credit through your Arizona Taxes.
